about

Wah Wah 45s are proud to present the first single to be taken from the hugely anticipated new album from arguably the UK’s finest dub and reggae outfit, Resonators.

After a four year hiatus - mostly spent tirelessly performing headline shows and festivals across the UK and Europe, as well as recording a plethora of new music – this almost peerless Brighton-based collective are ready to showcase their new material to an eager public.

Always thinking outside of the box, Healer started life as a psych rock tune, but somehow transformed into a beautiful piece of reggae music, whilst still retaining much of the original feel. It’s a song about young love and the resurgence of a friendship in adult life. The Healer character shows us that no matter how tough the present can be, we can always look to old friends for strength - the bonds of youth can last forever. Filled with gorgeous close harmonies, the original vocal version is a life-affirming slice of sultry summertime music, but for those who like their dub there’s always the deeper, effect-heavy version on the flip!

Healer will be released digitally, and on very limited hand-stamped 7” vinyl (signed by the whole band) on June 3rd. The new album, Imaginary People, is due to drop in September.

“In these days of homogenised, digital recordings lacking in any individual sound or identity it is most encouraging to hear something so truly original… most refreshing”. David Rodigan MBE

“Beautiful vocals, relentless energy and an adherence to old-style dub backdrops” Stamp The Wax

about

Resonators Brighton, UK

One of the most powerful dub bands in the UK, taking all the influences of original Jamaican sounds and riddims, and bringing it forward into the sounds of here and now.

Fronted by two soulful and innovative female vocalists (Faye Houston and Kassia Zermon), this 8-piece troupe generates a sound which is equally strong and sweet, conscious and fun.
